I am not using any sidebars at this stage, but on my pages I have a light grey background, and the content area is white. The white content area of my posts is smaller than that of my pages.
I have played around with the blog post settings to try and fix this but nothing has worked. If i change settings to full width then the grey background disappears and the whole page has a white background. Maybe these screenshots may help show what im trying to explain. I just converted it to the stretch template again - and it's fine now. Annie said…. This is great! I've been reading and looking at my blog but I'm unsure. I'd like to move the sidebar over to the right more and make the post larger.
I'm still not sure which to change to accomplish this. I am using a template from pyzam. Any suggestions? Annie, I don't know a lot about Pyzam templates, but the instructions that I provide will work with any template as long as you look for the containers by function and not by name. But you will have to translate the names. OK I took the plunge Thanks for helping!
I was concerned that by expanding the outer wrapper I would loose the pic underneath but it worked just fine and I believe that Pyzam calls them the same as the blogger templates.
Way to go, Annie! If Pyzam truly makes Blogger templates, their code would have to be compliant, and modifiable the same way. Thanks for letting us know, others may follow you! Sydney said…. Sydney, That's what a stretch template does for you. Check out the above second half.
It took me less than 5 minute to find this page, less than 5 minutes to make the changes, and less than 5 minutes to thank you. Ashvin Bhatt said…. Dammit, more pictures of England. Thanks for sharing, that water fountain picture in particular. Cherry B said…. Chuck, I've followed your guidance and mine is still a fairly narrow main body. I've changed the 2 column to a 3 column I think? Any tips? I'm using Blogger's Dark Dots template. Mahalo, Cherry B. Cherry, This post provides the how to, to get you started.
If the post column is too narrow, and the sidebars are too wide, then you have to adjust the column widths. Adjust them carefully, remembering to adjust the parent columns which contain the child columns , as well as the child columns which contain the blog content. Remember, there's not a lot of horizontal space available, so adjust carefully.
Patty, The pictures, uploaded through Blogger, are given a height and width when uploaded. You can widen the containers in the blog, and that should not affect picture size.
Hi, maybe you can help me I've tried everything you said, but when I post a photo it is automatically shrinked. I can't get the photo to fill the px width, even though the file is px wide. If I strecht it manually on the post window, it looks bad, like it's low resolution. I'm using the Minima layout, and I've tried the Minima Strech, but it is the same. Carnation said….
