Why does sailor moon get wings

Along with being able to transform into Sailor Moon, Usagi has the ability to change into several other versions of herself. She can also change how she looks by using her Disguise Pen and saying, "Moon Power, change me into a Several versions of Usagi feature her with wings. Her aforementioned Sailor Moon Eternal transformation sees the most drastic change in her Sailor Guardian appearance, with Usagi developing a pair of white wings.

She also has a more impressive set of angelic wings on several occasions as Serenity. In Season 4 , Episode , "Dreams Forever: Fill the Heavens with Light," Helios, aka Pegasus, lends his powers to Usagi and Chibiusa to save them from a deadly fall, with the pair sprouting wings before the worst could happen. While these wings only appear when Usagi is Serenity, it is unclear if this is a natural ability for the princess or if it is triggered when she interacts with specific beings and objects, like Helios and the Sword of Sealing.

This crystal is one of the most powerful artifacts in the universe. It can recall memories, revive the dead, transform monsters into humans, heal people, fend off dark energy, reach the furthest corners of the galaxy and create energy blasts and protective shields. In the episode, Tuxedo Mask jumps in front of a shard to protect Sailor Moon, dying as a result.

However, Usagi cries for him, and her tear summons the Rainbow Crystals to her. Chibiusa, the tiny pink-haired child who quite literally falls from the sky, has a stronger connection to Mamoru and Usagi than everyone thinks. She traveled from years in the future to save her "mommy and daddy" who remain a complete mystery until Usagi and Mamoru finally meet them And realize that they're staring at their future selves. One fan theory that seems to gather more and more evidence to back it up is that Mamoru Tuxedo Mask a.

King Endymion is actually the "missing" earth sailor scout. Fans often wondered who was representing earth since every other planet is represented, but it's one of those things that's so obvious, you don't quite realize it immediately. It was Mamoru's job to protect and rule over the earth, as it stated in the history of how he and Usagi met for the first time. What a tortured history this scout had. Sailor Saturn is considered one of the Outer Senshi and is first introduced as part of the Infinity Arc in the manga.

Her power is of great, nearly unimaginable, strength, as she self-destructs when using her ultimate attack only to be reborn when needed again. This ties in flawlessly with her "human" life on earth. Following a terrible accident, her father saves her by making her half human, half machine, thus turning Hotaru into a cyborg until her scout awakening. In Sailor Moon R , we find out that Tuxedo Mask didn't lead as lonely a life as he'd initially believed.

While all of the scouts had been reincarnated and given human lives, Mamoru was left parentless with zero memories of his childhood.

This was another void for fans as they tried to figure out why Mamoru was so alone and why he was the only who led that life, until Promose of the Rose. In this movie, Fiore is introduced as an ex-best friend as well as a devious antagonist. Are they humans? Secret scouts? None of the above They're actually familiars and fans have theorized that they're also somewhat of an alien race from the moon. This makes sense when considering their uncanny powers and ability to sense things before they happen.

However, on the moon, they'd just be considered "familiars" or "protectors" rather than an "alien species. There's a reason that Queen Serenity appears with wings, something you might have noticed in Sailor Moon Crystal.

Naoko Takeuchi didn't originally intend for Queen Serenity to have a human form when she finally sees her daughter again in spirit form, anyway. Rather, she was almost brought back as a fairy, which would explain her fairy-like appearance and wings in the reboot as a nod to the manga.

She was also supposed to go by the name Diana, which ended up being the name of Luna and Artemis' future kitten. One of the first things Chibiusa says when she meets her parents from the past is that her name is Usagi. While it is a nod to Usagi being her birth mother, there's also a meaning within Usagi's full name that soon becomes a nickname for Chibiusa. Usagi Tsukino is translated to "rabbit of the moon" which references Usagi being called "bunny" and Chibiusa gaining the name "rabbit.

In fact, the term "scout" is quite misleading when it comes to what the scouts actually are. In Japan, they're referred to as Senshi and viewed as warriors. All the reincarnation and past lives stuff in Sailor Moon can get pretty confusing. They fell in love, as we all know, and then the shadow of evil creeps in through Queen Metaria.

In the anime, when Queen Metaria leads an assault on earth, Prince Endymion the past-version of Tuxedo Mask is killed. Princess Serenity is then sent into a spiral of sadness and then kills herself out of grief. The manga-version is far more tragic and saddening, which is probably why it was changed for TV. Still, technically, Usagi kills herself-- well, her past self, anyway.

Sailor Moon rocks a lot of outfits over the course of the series. This usually happens whenever Usagi needs a power-upgrade, like when she transforms into Super Sailor Moon with the power of the Holy Grail. Truthfully, that costume change only involves a few added bows and colours. A more drastic transformation occurs when Usagi grows wings and a different color set when transforming into Eternal Sailor Moon. Unlike a rabbit, however, Usagi hates carrots.

The rabbit-moon combo is actually based off of a Japanese folktale about a bunny that you can supposedly see on the moon. Voice actors are key to the enjoyment of any animated series. Fortunately for the Sailor Moon animated series, Usagi Tsukino pretty much always had one voice. Kotono Mitsuishi is pretty much the only voice actor to bring Usagi to life throughout the Japanese animated series. Unlike her normal voice, Mutsuishi uses a higher pitch when voicing Usagi, a role she assumed even in the various movies that the Sailor Moon franchise spawned.

Mitsuishi is also the only voice actor from the original cast to reprise her role in Sailor Moon Crystal , continuing the legacy of Usagi today. Early character designs for Usagi showcase the titular heroine sporting pink hair.

Later, this was changed to blonde, as we all know. It took an editor stepping in to change that plan, as Takeuchi was told that silver hair was simply too plain to have on the cover of a manga. The Sailor Moon creator would put her hair up into buns during exams or hard classes as a sort of good luck charm.

Usagi is never really portrayed as all that smart. Not only is she always portrayed as having a strong distaste for school, but Usagi never really seems to do well in her classes, particularly English and math-- her worst subjects. However, Usagi may be more lazy than she is stupid.

Case in point: when Usagi needs to do well on her high school exams lest she be held back and not be in the same class as her friends.
