A five person City Council is elected citywide by the voters, each for a two-year term, except for the Mayor who is elected to a three-year term. The City is divided into four wards, each of which is represented by one of the council members. The Mayor is the fifth member of the Council and is elected at-large, not representing any ward. The Mayor presides over the City Council Meetings, which are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
