Watch options. Storyline Edit. Five teenagers head off for a weekend at a secluded cabin in the woods.
They arrive to find they are quite isolated with no means of communicating with the outside world. When the cellar door flings itself open, they of course go down to investigate. They find an odd assortment of relics and curios, but when one of the women, Dana, reads from a book, she awakens a family of deadly zombie killers.
However, there's far more going on than meets the eye. If you hear a strange sound outside Did you know Edit. Trivia During the lake scene, the only student not to jump into the lake is Marty, who remains fully clothed on the dock. This was partially due to Fran Kranz noticeably being in as good, if not better, shape than the other male students.
In the commentary for the film, the writers joke that he was "ripped like muscular Jesus" and assert that if Marty were shown being that fit it would ruin the character. This is partly also why Marty wears baggier clothes than the other students.
Goofs One-way mirrors only work when the room on one side is very brightly illuminated and the room on the other is very dimly lit. In the cabin it looks like both rooms are equally dimly lit. I love Drew Goddard, and when seeing his new film Bad Times at the El Royale , I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the two. Here's my crazy theory …. Want your community included?

Parents say 13 Kids say Teen, 13 years old Written by cerealkiller April 13, Could have had the potential to be a lot scarier Saw this yesterday on opening weekend. And I've got to say this pretty much killed my thinking of Lionsgate. First,it starts off slow, like a normal horror movie setup, then halfway in,it tries to be Friday the 13th,and when that dosent work it tries a few torture porn methods in the style of Saw movies then tries to be Laid To rest and finally ends in an Evil Dead conclusion.
Theres a lot of graphic bloody violence but it's meant to be gratuitous and cheesy so it won't scare many viewers. I think next time,I'd be better off staying home and watching Evil Dead back to back. This review Helped me decide. Had useful details. Read my mind 1. Report this review. Read my mind. Thoughtful film goes beyond horror tropes This film is amazing. I would not go as far as saying it is perfect, but it sure is damn good.
I love how the film starts as something woefully cliche but then morphs into a comedic horror film that truly engages its audience.
The casting was very good, especially the two men in the lab that control the environment of the protagonists. The storyline was also very smart as it defies all the typical horror tropes by going into depth in how most stereotypical horror movies are constructed.
I love all the different beasts that are released and terrorise the lab members, and especially how one of the men dies to a beast he likes. There are characters being pierced by sharp objects, eaten, ripped apart, flung from ceilings, exploding, mauled by a werewolf, stabbed, hacked with an axe, crashing into a wall and pierced through the neck.
If you are a fan of the horror genre and are looking for something a bit different, I would highly recommend this film. A genius metaphor for the horror movie industry and such a unique take. Teen, 14 years old Written by kgalahad July 18, More of a plot than most horor movies.
Most fifteen year olds can handle it, but this can be disturbing for younger children.
